A huge thank you to everyone who came along to help with the court and surrounds clean-up! Even with the rain coming down, spirits stayed high. Through the sounds of laughter, garden machinery revving, and tools clanging and scraping, we all got well and truly stuck in.
Not an easy task with everything being so wet, but that didn’t stop us from clearing mud from the drains, cutting back hedges, raking up leaves, mowing the grass, and clearing away the rubbish. Definitely a “down and dirty” kind of day — in the best possible way.
And there was a reward waiting for us. As the rain eased and the skies turned blue, the nets came out and we managed to squeeze in an hour or so of play. A perfect ending to a big group effort.
A big shout out to George Smith, once again, for being our creative handyman, fixing our pulleys for the middle net as well as making some podiums for the tournament next weekend. We truly appreciate all his help.
