This May, Madrugada celebrates the anniversary of opening its charity shop in Ferreiras — a milestone that highlights the vital role our shops play in supporting palliative end-of-life care across the Algarve.
Madrugada Association offers end-of-life palliative care and support to patients and their families in a holistic way. Emotional, spiritual, and practical support are essential during this time, ensuring that both patients and their loved ones are cared for with dignity and compassion. All Madrugada services are provided free of charge and on a confidential basis.
Based in the Algarve, our dedicated Support Centre in Luz provides information and advice in a friendly and empathetic way, helping patients and families throughout their journey.
Our professional clinical team deliver a unique hospice-at-home service for patients who wish to remain in the comfort of their own homes at the end of life, surrounded by familiarity and those closest to them. To date, Madrugada has supported 441 patients and their families

In Lagoa, our shop offers a mix of clothing alongside home décor and unique items, perfect for anyone seeking something special while contributing to the community.
Also in Lagos, our Homestore is a treasure trove for households — from furniture and bric-a-brac to sports goods and everyday essentials. It’s a space where practicality meets purpose, helping families furnish their homes affordably.
Our newest addition, the Lagos Fashion Store, brings a boutique feel to charity retail, offering carefully selected, high-quality fashion pieces — similar in style to our Ferreiras shop — and already making its mark as a go-to destination for shoppers.
Behind each of these shops is a dedicated team of volunteers whose time, energy, and passion keep everything running smoothly. Every donation received and every purchase made directly supports Madrugada’s palliative end-of-life care services across the region.
