What is YOUR Pattern?

Have you given away your freedom?

Health and Happiness in The Algarve

Last Update 5 months ago

You wanted freedom. Maybe you left a role for it or built something of your own around it. And now here you are - busier than ever, wearing more hats than you own heads! You’re the person
everyone calls. You’re quietly holding it all together.

I know this place well. I built a career, raised children, and looked after everyone in my orbit with competence and grace. Without quite knowing how it happened, I was waking up tired every day, going through a divorce, realising I no longer had the energy
for the role I was in, and driving across the country to support my sister caring for my ageing Mum. The freedom I had imagined for this chapter had slipped away. Not stolen. But….gradually given away.

What I didn’t see then was the pattern. In my work, I call it being at effect - the world doing things to you, rather than you deciding how to meet the world. It creeps in one small yes at a time, often through good intentions, sometimes through systems we lean on instead of ourselves, and repeatedly through giving to others long before we
have thought about our own boundaries. Ultimately, we become part of the pattern, not even recognising that we are there, let alone how we got there.

Listen. Pause. Notice. Are you ‘’at effect’’?

Here’s the uncomfortable truth.

Seeking freedom without taking responsibility for ourselves - for our health, for our energy, for our habits actually leads to far less freedom than we started with. And that gap between who we naturally are and who we have been performing? It doesn’t just show up in our lives. It shows up in our bodies too.

The next chapter is still available. But it asks something first. Not more effort. Clearer eyes.

If this is landing for you, a free 15-minute conversation is a very easy place to start.
