Healing wounds you didn’t know you carried
The story of the lost twin
When I was participating in a program for holistic coaching and healing, I had an extraordinary experience. We were practicing guiding clients into their subconscious world to heal deep wounds and release deep blockages.
The teacher was telling about his own experience in the time he learnt this himself as a student, years ago. He told about a discovery he did during one of the sessions, in which he saw himself back into the womb as an unborn baby, or more like a fetus. But he wasn’t alone, he was one of two! During this session he saw his ‘twin’ disappear during the pregnancy, leaving him alone to be born. He experienced it as an intense loss of which he didn’t know he carried.
After that story of my teacher, we went for lunch. I was not feeling well, feeling a little nauseous. It became worse, like someone hit me in the stomach or even like a cannonball was fired at me! In the sessions that afternoon it became clear that I had had such an experience myself, just like my teacher!! I was born too as one of two, losing my twin during the pregnancy, I saw it right before my eyes! And my teacher telling this story, triggered my subconscious memory of it. A memory I didn’t know about, but my body obviously did!
Opening up to this hidden wound, helped me understand some problems in my daily life, like difficulties in saying goodbye to people, feeling afraid to loose them. Or feelings of ‘emptiness’ that I sometimes had. It helped me heal this wound, by mourning about this lost twin and let this experience be a part of my life story in stead of subconsciously being influenced by it. I felt whole again.
